Modern RP British Accent Intensive
Dates: Jan 12 · Jan 19 · Jan 26 Time: Mondays · 6:00–8:00 PM PT Format: Live on Zoom Class Size: Max 6 students 3-Week Flagship Curriculum Modern RP is the foundation accent for nearly all British work – especially for contemporary TV, animation, and games. This intensive is designed to give you a clean, stable, casting-safe British base that you can reliably return to under pressure. Rather than defaulting to the fake “dialect textbook RP” sound, we’ll build repeatable physical and rhythmic habits that allow you to hold an authentic accent, avoid American pitfalls, and compete with native Brits. WHAT YOU’LL GET -Comprehensive instruction on oral posture, pronunciation, and prosody -Performance-based exercises to refine your accent in action -A wealth of resources, including audio playlists, for ongoing practice -Empathetic, knowledgeable guidance to help you master even the trickiest sounds CLASS STRUCTURE: Day 1: Oral posture and pronunciation of key sounds Day 2: The music (prosody) of the accent: melody and rhythm Day 3: A full day of performance and feedback to bring your accent to life Whether you’ve studied RP before or are coming in fresh, this class will give you the tools, confidence, and resources to elevate your British accent to the next level.

Working-Class London
Dates: Jan 12 · Jan 19 · Jan 26 Time: Mondays · 6:00–8:00 PM PT Format: Live on Zoom Class Size: Max 6 students 3-Week Overview of Estuary, Cockney, Essex, MLE, and how they relate to RP. Dates: Feb 2 · Feb 9 · Feb 16 Time: Mondays · 6:00–8:00 PM PT Format: Live on Zoom Price: $275 Class Size: Max 8 students This class looks at Southern British accents as a system, not as isolated caricatures. Instead of “learning five accents,” we’ll explore how RP, Estuary, Cockney, Essex, and Multicultural London English relate to one another, and where actors most commonly blur or confuse them. YOU’LL LEAVE WITH -A clear mental map of the Southern British accent continuum -Tools for dialing class, character, and attitude without devolving into caricature -Practical insight into which accent(s) to use and when Ideal as a follow-up to RP to expand into the rest of the Southern UK region.

Accents of Northern England
Dates: Feb 23 · Mar 2 · Mar 9 Time: Mondays · 6:00–8:00 PM PT Format: Live on Zoom Class Size: Max 8 students 3-Week Overview of Manchester, Yorkshire, & Liverpool Northern English accents are not just “like other British accents but flatter”, they are distinct sound systems with their own melodies, vowel qualities, and rhythmic logic. And yet, many actors default to a vague, generic “Northern” that no longer holds up in contemporary, authentic casting. This overview focuses on how Northern accents differ from their Southern counterparts, and how Manchester, Yorkshire, and Liverpool each function as separate, identifiable systems. You’ll leave with: -Clear melodic and vowel distinctions that separate Northern English accents from Southern British speech and from each other -Tools for choosing specific Northern regional features, rather than defaulting to a blend -Greater confidence delivering specific, grounded Northern sounds that casting can actually place

Standard Scottish English
Dates: Mar 16 · Mar 23 · Mar 30 Time: Mondays · 6:00–8:00 PM PT Format: Live on Zoom Class Size: Max 6 students This intensive focuses on Standard Scottish English, the contemporary accent most commonly required in professional performance, and one that is often attempted with a “cheap and fast caricature” rather than authenticity and realism. Rather than leaning into exaggerated “Scottishness,” we’ll build the accent from its real linguistic roots, including the influence of Scots, while avoiding the cartoonish “Groundskeeper Willie” sound that still trips up many actors. We’ll focus on how Scottish speakers actually pronounce, phrase, and move through language, not how pop culture tells us they do. You’ll leave with: -A clear understanding of Scottish pronunciation patterns, vowels, consonants, and how to handle R sounds -Accurate melodic and rhythmic habits that define modern Scottish speech, such as the incredibly important Scottish Vowel Length Rule -Tools for maintaining clarity and control without over-darkening or over-rolling This class is about building a grounded, professional Scottish accent that works for contemporary film, TV, animation, and games.

Advanced RP – 1-Day Workshop
Date: Apr 6 Time: Monday · 6:00–9:00 PM PT Format: Live on Zoom Class Size: Max 10 students This workshop is for actors who already “do RP,” but want to address the subtle American traps that often undermine otherwise strong British accents. We’ll focus on the fine-grain details that separate a convincing RP from one that’s technically correct but still reads as American, especially in longer reads or under pressure. You’ll leave with: -Solid, reliable personal take-aways and pitfalls to avoid -Greater awareness of American prosody habits that sneak into RP -Tools for nailing the subtleties of the accent that might go over an American’s head, but that every Brit will hear. This is about tightening what you already have, so your RP doesn’t just sound “good,” but sounds right. Previous RP training required in order to attend.

Full UK Dialect Program

The Full UK Dialect Program
The Full UK Dialect Program is a comprehensive, structured training path designed for actors and voice actors who want real control across modern British & Scottish accents, not just individual sounds in isolation. Rather than treating accents as disconnected skills, this program builds a clear, usable framework for navigating UK speech: how accents relate to one another, where they differ, and how to keep them distinct under professional pressure. This is the same approach required in real-world work, where actors are often asked to move between regions, classes, and tones quickly and accurately. The program includes: 1) Modern British RP (Intensive) – your casting-safe foundation and reset point 2) Working-Class London (Overview) – understanding the Southern British continuum (RP, Estuary, Cockney, Essex, MLE) 3) Northern England (Overview) – clear distinctions between Manchester, Yorkshire, and Liverpool 4) Scottish (Intensive) – grounded Standard Scottish English with accurate rhythm and vowel structure 5) Advanced RP Workshop – fine-tuning RP to eliminate American traps and prosody drift Taken together, these courses give you a full map of contemporary British accents, along with the tools to avoid blending, caricature, or defaulting to “generic British.” You’ll gain: -A stable RP base you can always return to -Clear boundaries between Southern, Northern, and Scottish accents -Greater specificity in auditions and sessions -Confidence switching between UK accents without American drift Actors may take individual classes à la carte, but the Full UK Program is ideal for those who want a complete, intentional, and authentic foundation. Program enrollment saves $215 compared to individual class registration. Program Price: $1,095 Individual Price: $1,310 Total Savings: $215 (Includes all five British track classes, Jan–April)

New York Accents Workshop
Date: Thu Mar 19, 2026 Time: 6:00–9:00 PM PT Format: Live on Zoom Class Size: Max 10 students Modern New York accents didn’t appear out of nowhere, they emerged from distinct ethnic neighborhoods, shaped by waves of immigration and layered cultural influence. While many of the strongest traditional features have softened over time, traces of those influences still remain in contemporary New York speech. In this workshop, we’ll explore how a modern, general New York accent functions today, and how actors can intentionally and tastefully incorporate elements influenced by Jewish, Italian, and Puerto Rican speech patterns when appropriate for a character without slipping into stereotype or pastiche. We’ll also examine which sounds have largely disappeared from everyday New York speech, and which subtle features still signal “New York” in a believable, current way. You’ll leave with: -A clearer understanding of how New York accents developed from ethnic neighborhood influences -Tools for selectively incorporating Jewish-, Italian-, or Puerto Rican–influenced features into a general NY sound -Greater confidence distinguishing modern New York speech from older, more traditional versions This workshop focuses on specificity and choice, helping you create New York characters that feel grounded, contemporary, and culturally aware.

Mid-Atlantic Makeover
Date: Thu Apr 2, 2026 Time: 6:00–9:00 PM PT Format: Live on Zoom Class Size: Max 10 students In games and fantasy settings, casting often asks for a sound that’s clearly not American, but also not fully modern British… the kind of accent commonly heard in franchises like World of Warcraft, Diablo, and The Elder Scrolls. This “fantasy British” sound doesn’t require the precision of RP, but it isn’t random. There are consistent rules, boundaries, and habits that keep it reading as intentional rather than muddy or accidentally American. This Make-Over focuses on identifying where your current habits sit, and shaping them into a light, non-American, vaguely British accent that works for fantasy worlds where realism isn’t the goal, but coherence and “getting the right vibe” are. You’ll leave with: -A clearer understanding of what casting usually means by “Mid-Atlantic”, “light British”, or “fantasy British” -Tools for creating a consistent non-American sound without full RP precision -Greater control over which British-leaning features to keep, soften, or remove This class is ideal for actors who want to clean up an in-between accent and turn it into a usable, intentional choice for games and fantasy storytelling, as well as those new to the accent.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to take the classes in order?
No. Classes may be taken à la carte. That said, the UK Dialect Program is intentionally structured to provide the most clarity and to help avoid accent bleed, beginning with Modern RP and moving through the track in sequence.
What’s the difference between an Intensive, an Overview, a Survival Kit, and a Workshop?
Intensives focus deeply on one accent over three weeks, using a carefully designed curriculum refined over years of teaching. Overviews compare related accents and help you understand similarities, differences, and perform a variety of accents within a dialect family. Survival Kits are fast, practical classes designed to get you audition-safe quickly in a single accent by focusing on the most problematic and essential sounds or features. Workshops are focused “introductions “starter kits” that start you off on the right foot, giving you the tools and materials to continue developing the accent independently or through private coaching.
Why are some 6-hour classes priced differently?
Classes are priced based on scope and outcome, not just time. Overviews focus on long-term frameworks across multiple accents, while Survival Kits are designed for fast, practical deployment of a single accent. Pricing also reflects the depth of specialization and curriculum development behind each class.
Are these classes appropriate for voice actors?
Yes. All classes are designed with voiceover and performance in mind, with an emphasis on clarity, repeatability, and holding an accent under professional conditions. They are also appropriate for on-camera and theatre actors, as well as role-players and Dungeon Masters.
What if I already “do” the accent?
Many actors come in with prior experience. These classes focus on tightening habits, avoiding common traps, and building consistency, especially under pressure or when switching accents. Even experienced actors often discover areas where their accent can be more precise, grounded, or reliable.
Is there a discount for taking the full UK Dialect Program?
Yes. Program pricing is available for actors enrolling in the full UK Dialect Program and reflects a savings compared to individual class registration.
What if I can’t make a class work financially right now?
If splitting a class or program into two payments would help, feel free to reach out via email.
